Each battery is individually wrapped and sealed in cellophane for future use and storage. I bought them mainly for my smoke alarms. They work great in other applications and are easy to recharge. I just rotate out the old one and and put it in a charger overnight and replace it with one I have already charged. I counted that I will need 9 to cover my entire house, so I go ahead order four additional. These Li-ion batteries should be stable due to the widely used in cell phones, and to my understanding, the memory effect that makes the NiCd or NiMH rechargeable die sooner than expected will not be an issue on the Li-ion batteries. Although I have not used them long enough to say that they won’t break yet, but since they uses the same technology as the cell phone batteries, I will happily trust them.
