I practiced using these drill bits and also using a "hot nail" method on a piece of scrap acrylic. The "hot nail" method still required the use of something to take away the expelled material from the hole. What did I use? The drill bit(s). Overall, I felt much more comfortable using the drill bits to stop drill the crack. I could precisely put the bit at the point I wanted to make the hole rather than with the nail. Be patient with the drill bit and let it slowly do the work for you. You can periodically pull the bit from the hole to clean the bit and the area of excess material. I then used the larger bit to chamfer the edge to make a smooth entry. They worked very well and I am very pleased with the result. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Great for softer mats, plastic/woods *by M***8 on Reviewed in the United States on January 5, 2020* Would not recommend for aluminum or any other metal.
