The best I can describe it, is imagine a close dryer with several garmets that all have large buttons. It's a continuous loud random clicking noise. I called customer support and they said that is "normal" sounds of water dripping from the condenser into the water pan. I do not believe that. It starts immediately, and my units are running in an extremely dry atmosphere. If there was that much water dripping into the pan, it would soon fill up and start flowing out into the room. There is NO drain hole in the drip pan outside, which is also potentially another problem.I have uploaded a video.I'm going to have to return all three units which I just bought. Heavy sigh, because of the difficulty of removing and reboxing/shipping these 45 pound units. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice quiet and easy to use *by G***. on Reviewed in the United States on July 13, 2015* Nice and surprisingly quiet for an air conditioner. Its close to my bed so i worried i wouldn't be able to sleep with it on, but its not as loud as my old taped together fan i had in the window. I'm happy with it and ill let you know how my electric bill looks tthe next couple months. Instalation was relatively easy but i had help so i suggest a helper so you can secure it properly without worry of dropping it. Controls are easy to figure out. It's the first window unit I've owned and it does a really good job of cooling off my space. Not as good as central air would but I can stand directly in front of it to cool off quickly. That being said this thing is louder then I expected and makes a variety of noises when running. Perhaps this is normal, I don't have anything to compare to. I sleep during the day so I'm used to sleeping through noise, this is not loud enough to block out the sound of the ever present construction nor loud enough to keep me awake. It was easy to install.
