The spawn comes seperate but in the smae box, so you get to carry out innoculation yourself for the full growing experience! **Q: What sort of yield weight wise can you get. 1kg fresh oganic oyster mushrooms at real foods is Β£18. More than that?** A: It will depend on how well you look after the mushrooms but if you have 4 good flushes of mushrooms you would get near 1kg for sure! Its great fun as well. Never thought I would of been so interested in watching them grow! haha. Hope this helps! **Q: How many harvests can I have?** A: None. Don’t buy this product. It’s convoluted. **Q: If I bought now as a xmas present, would this be okay to store in the box for four months? In short, is there a use by date on this?** A: The spore pouch should be kept in the fridge but I am not sure how long it can stay there or how viable it would be after 4 months. If you are keen you can produce more spore in that time and can have more than 1 hay bag growing same time. If you want to eat it on Christmas Dinner then you have 2 months less anyway. The rest is hay so it can stay in the box. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent results, tasty mushrooms *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 1 December 2022* We bought this as a Christmas present for a 7 year old. We followed the instructions that came with the kit. It takes a while to get going and if you're buying for a younger child as we did they will need help (to be expected). We maintained moisture in the box with the supplied water sprayer and after a few weeks the mushrooms started to grow. Once the mushrooms starts to grow they increase in size very quickly so make sure you keep an eye on them. The result was a good crop of very tasty oyster mushroom. We maintained moisture levels going forward and a few weeks later we got a second crop. Overall very pleased with the product and it was a very enjoyable activity to do with kids. Would definitely recommend. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Mushroom *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 4 January 2021* In all honesty didn't know you could even buy this - but my mum wanted a mushroom growing kit for Christmas when asked, so I bought this one. I thought it would be tiny because mushrooms are so small but it was actually in a massive box like a shoe box size, so it made a good gift! My mum really loved it, and apparently was told to send for 'spawn' separately as it has to be 'fresh' so can't be shipped with the rest of the box (again i have no idea what this means but she liked it). Apparently the spawn was free post and came the next day...so that's good. its on the top of her wardrobe now so she's gonna check it on the 17th January. I hope she gets the results she needs mushroom-wise, but I was really happy with the service, its been quick and the kit is nicely packaged. All in all a really weird but fun xmas gift. ThanksUpdate - it made two batches of mushrooms so she was really happy ### ⭐⭐⭐ Patience is a virtue *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 4 June 2021* You have to have patience with this product and persistant in the watering. I got 1 flush after about 35-40 days, after that I waited and watered and was ready to throw it away, but I can see another flush coming now. It's been fun watching them grow but time consuming. ## Frequently Bought Together - Urban Farm-It Mushroom Growing Kit (XL Blue Grey Oyster Mushroom) | Gifts for Women, Men & Kids | With Voucher to Claim Living Spawn Separately for Better Yield | Easy to Use & Delicious to Eat - GroCycle Oyster Mushroom Growing Kit | Mushroom Grow Kit | Gardening Gifts for Women, Men & Kids | Grow Your Own Kits | Fun to Grow & Delicious to Eat | Oyster Mushroom Grow Kit | Mushroom Gifts - Urban Farm-It Mushroom Log Growing Kit (Shiitake) | Gardening Gifts for Women, Men & Kids | with Voucher to Claim Living Spawn Separately for Better Yield | Log NOT Included | Fun & Easy to Use --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.tn/products/198209099-dart-valley-fungi-mushroom-growing-kit-xl-blue-grey-oyster](https://www.desertcart.tn/products/198209099-dart-valley-fungi-mushroom-growing-kit-xl-blue-grey-oyster) --- *Product available on Desertcart Tunisia* *Store origin: TN* *Last updated: 2026-10-26*
