The melting point is certainly higher than with 60/40, but I've gotten fine results out of it by pushing my iron up to 275C. I can manage solid joints with SMT components running as low as 230. The no-clean flux really is no-clean. I have observed no build up of fluxing solids, and I have had no cold joints after adjusting the iron temperature.I did have to add a little bit of flux to get good wetting on components with thicker leads. That rarely happens with 60/40, but the melting point difference makes it no surprise. I'm willing to add a drop of flux occasionally to get away from lead solder.I definitely recommend purchasing a stand for it. A 1lb spool is unmanageable any other way. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Good lead-free with an RMA (R0L0) flux *by B***T on Reviewed in the United States on June 13, 2016* This is Indium's CW-807 solder sporting a standard SAC305 alloy (tin, 3% silver, 0,5% copper). CW-807 is a "no clean" rosin solder. It's been pretty good on older assemblies and new projects. Flux is a J-STD-004B type ROL0 with good SIR and minimal electromigration. Not much smoke. What there is isn't harsh but has an oddly sweet smell. Not "raspy" like vintage Relicore 11 RMA that I use sometimes. For odor I still prefer the classic Kester 44 but a filter-fan is the smart way to deal with that aspect. ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars most difficult SAC305 of this diameter that I've used *by E***Z on Reviewed in the United States on February 25, 2017* I've found this to be the most difficult SAC305 .032" (of the three) that I've used. It may be the case that it would be fine if it were .025".
