I laid it flat on the floor in my living room to assemble and then moved it to my bathroom, where I tied it to the radiator to support it , whilst adjusting the height. Which is it please?** A: We have not found it necessary to use screws. There is a big spanner provided which causes the pole to extend so that it clamps tightly between floor and ceiling. Our pole is therefore secured by friction alone and doesn't budge. The top of the pole has rubber pads to aid friction. The bottom of the pole has fixing holes which will accommodate screws for additional fixity. As I said however, we haven't found screws to be necessary.
