We needed a rechargeable light for a home theater - something that would illuminate a dinner plate, etc. without lighting up the whole room, and there's no power at that seating area so we needed a rechargeable. While these are not high-end pieces of craftsmanship - definitely on the plastic-y side - but they've held up well, easy to operate (the button on the front toggles between three brightness settings, hold it down to turn off). They do just what we need them to do, the look is simple and clean and the way it aims the light down works for our use. We always use them at the lowest power setting (there are three) but it appears to be plenty of light to read by at the higher settings. Also they have held a charge well.
