I have an older hamster and the cage I have, the food and water bottle are in a spot where if she gets sick with wettail she would have a hard time going to get a drink. This product lets me put her food and drink right outside her house. PERFECT! I have a standard size hamster so you can see her size versus the actual product. I have to say the water bottle is pretty small for a guinea pig. I've never had a guinea pig though so I can't necessarily speak for that. Those who complain this water bottle is too small for a hamster doesn't quite make sense to me. In reality you should be changing the water everyday, but if you don't this water won't run out within a day. The material is chewable, I would have thought it would be more plastic so it would be harder to chew. So far my hamster hasn't chewed it up, so I'm happy with the product.
