I did in fact receive 6 whole, fresh (at least as much as can be expected in winter) peppers. They mostly look like reapers (See Picture) and they certainly have great heat. One of the six looked to be overripe. This is the one I cut up in the picture. The stem was ripping from the body and there was some light mold starting inside. I'm going to chalk this one up as the "free" one. I also sampled that one, and removed the seeds (also seen in the picture).As for my sampling, I started out small and cut a piece from the top of the pepper about .5" x .75" and made sure to fully chew. I decided to ride this test out without any other food or liquid. The heat set in slowly, but at about the 1.5 minute mark I could tell it had peaked. It took about 4 more minutes before it really died down. By that time I had some sweat on my brow and the heat had reached my nose, which was running. The heat had now moved to my stomach. I could tell it was there, but it was certainly manageable. I'm sure a whole pepper would require far more precaution. Reaper powder is what I really want to test. I'll dehydrate them on low heat and grind them up.Once I have some time to properly process and test these peppers, I'll post more, but for now, I am very satisfied! I paid $12 for these.UPDATE: Well, after a full growing season, I wasn't able to grow any peppers, but I did get several seedlings. The seedlings didn't do well mostly because I didn't take enough care of them. I'll try again next year.
