I see it's now back up to $16, but who knows, maybe it'll go back down.Anyways... The thermometer is pretty light, very quick and seems to be of solid construction. The accuracy seems ok, though I need to do a little more empirical testing to be sure. Of the 5 people in my house, it measured 3 of them as having a fever (in both ears, with ear to ear on the same person varying by only 0.6º maximum). That's good, because 3 of us are currently sick!When I say it's quick, I mean barely 2 seconds quick. With a newborn and a toddler, that's a fair advantage over other inexpensive measurement types.It comes with a little weighted base, and a clear cap so it can be stored vertically. The display is back-lit and sufficient for most ambient lighting conditions, but don't expect to be blown away by it.One thing that I don't like is that it doesn't come with batteries. They are AAAs, so easy to find, and of course with the price that I paid, I'm not surprised there were no batteries, but still it is nice to be able to use a product like this out of the box.All in all, I'm happy with it. Seems to get the right temp. I have taken my son to the doctor after using this and they get the same reading that I did at home using this.
