I opted for the extra long one (85") and I'm SO glad I did. That being said, I think the regular length would be totally fine too...I just found that for me personally the long is great because I don't spend so much time scootching back on the mat in the middle of my flow! The Napa color is really pretty too. Pretty true to the color in the photo and relaxing/not distracting during practice.The mat has held up well, and I really like the 1/2" thickness - the texture helps too so your hands won't slip during poses, or if you're taking it to hot yoga (my fave). It's cushy, but not too thick and on a wooden floor, it definitely provides enough cushion for exercises that might otherwise hurt your wrists/back etc. (for me this was more relevant with Pilates and bodyweight exercises - also great for my Mom who struggles with exercising with RA). The only thing I will say is it's slightly stretchy, but I do more Pilates/core with it, so it's greatIt might seem silly, but I was pretty excited about the little carry strap that came with it too. It's just convenient to not have to have my mat unrolling when I'm already awkwardly juggling everything else. I can loop it onto my workout bag and go which is a huge plus.I'm definitely pleased and would (and have already) recommended it. As someone who's usually pretty thrifty, I think it's a great buy. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Not that great *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on November 2, 2017* I bought this mat thinking I needed a little more padding between me and the floor. While this mat did provide that, it also provided a little something extra. This mat makes awful, loud, and mortifying fart noises during class. The mat also stretches which made it less than stable. The foam would indent and stay that way. Because of the thickness of the foam, it also doesn’t roll up very easily or very well. I’m returning it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good Beginner's Mat *by C***A on Reviewed in the United States on June 22, 2020* This mat is super comfortable, supportive, and has a great value! I have stamped concrete floors in my living room and this has saved my body (I bruise like a peach!) during poses and stretches. I also love that it comes with a strap to carry and keep it compact when out of use.I ordered this mat on April 2 and have used it regularly since then. It's comfortable and has decent grip for your palms but after 2 months of regular use it's starting to show stretch lines and has 1 tear towards the bottom (where my feet are during 1 legged downward dog and plank position).I'm a little disappointed that it's showing wear and tear but, it's my first mat so I plan to stick with it until it completely gives out on me. I'd definitely recommend this for beginners especially if you're worried about committing to a new regular routine.
