In just minutes I unscrewed one of the rear light fixtures on my Ford E-350 camper van and replaced the incandescent bulb with this product. It's a bayonet socket, and the switch took only seconds. The overall process took about 15 minutes.Now, whenever I'm in reverse, there is a periodic, high-pitched beeping. It is not terribly loud, but it should certainly get the attention of any human or animal that might be in the way of your vehicle as it backs up.I feel much more secure with this automatic beeping. I used to beep my horn 3 times as I began to back up, but this is much better as it is automatic, distinctive, and continuous.And there's a benefit to you, the driver: You'll always know that you're in the reverse gear! Have you ever backed up your car to talk to a neighbor and held you foot on the brake while you talk? It's possible to forget you're in reverse.
