The only way to hear the music is to continously turn the little crank.The burlap bag is smashed into the same small box that the music box is packed, so it requires a bit of flattening to make it look presentable.I had purchased 3, one for each of my grown daughters. But once had the music boxes in my hand, I knew there was no way I would give these as a gift.Do not purchase this item.
