Review: Really Great Product. - This thing is really a great product. I'm an avid smoker. I use electric smokers because I just love the convenience they provide. However, Ive found that since I've moved from New England to Georgia, the Georgia heat does not provide a great environment for an electric smoker. Since the outside temperatures are so hot in the summer the electric coil gets up to temp and shuts off and stays off too long for the internal smoker box to really get going with coals and create the smoke output I desire. The SmokeMeister eliminates this problem! Once you are set with the proper tools this thing installs in less than 5 minutes. I just used it on my Masterbuilt smoker and I was blown away by the smoke it cranked into the chamber. I got an easy 6 hours of continuous smoke from the bag of Pellets that they provided to me with my order. This item is no joke it really works great. The product itself is very well made and should last many many years. Once its installed and snug its very sturdy. On install of the the Masterbuilt I needed to make a slight connection modification. Masterbuillt has a thicker double wall setup and the threads provided on the Smokemeister just weren't long enough to grab onto the provided washer/nut. I simply used a brass garden hose attachment I got at HD for $2.50 and it worked excellent.

Longer version: I love my franken-Masterbuilt smoker (rednecked double stacked awesomeness) however getting any usable smoke from this thing is an exercise in futility. That said I sprung for the Smokemiester! All of the instructions exclaim “MUST be installed ABOVE flame”. As most stack smoker owners are aware, this isn’t possible most of the time. Just the way they’re made. I installed this as low as possible in the fire box (front left lower corner) and regardless of how low I set the temp, the column of heat pulls the smoke in! IT WORKS!! 3-5hrs of SOLID SMOKE!!!! Add more pellets and keep going!!! I love this thing! Tolerable pain points: there are no fancy bells and whistles here and quite frankly, you won’t/don’t need them. Pellet residue will cake up the sleeve and gum up the lid making it difficult to open after use. Some warm water applied when cool will help free everything up and a quick wire brushing will get you prepped for your next run. The ash pan only swings out so you can’t just dump the ash, you have to sweep, blow or vacuum it out. Again, all tolerable for the level of output. Love it!!! 2 years later: still up and running. This thing, when maintained, just won’t quit. Still love it!!!

**Q: I want to use this on a portable gas grill, however don't know how heavy the unit is once loaded with pellets as to not tip over the grill. Any Idea?**
A: The unit is small and light, about 3 pounds, so as long as your portable grill has a solid base I wouldn't imagine it would tip, even fully loaded. I don't know which grill you have, but you could probably counterbalance it with your propane tank, but I doubt it is necessary.

**Q: Will this work in conjunction with a Brinkmann Electric Smoker, if so what would the 'conversion/attachment' require in terms of assembly and start-up**
A: Hi Katie,Yes, it will work great on a Brinkmann Electric Smoker. You have to drill a 1 1/8 inch hole, and install the smoker with the nuts that are supplied.

**Q: I have a chargriller model 2929, can this be installed on it. If so best installation ideas**
A: Absolutely! I used a step drill bit, and bore a hole to the diameter of the smoker tube, and it works very well. There are great installation videos of this little guy on the Smokemiester website and on the youtube.

Short story, it’s simple, it works. Very well. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great, but didn't last

My husband loves this, so for him, I will buy another. I bought this last year for his birthday, which is in a week, but it has completely rusted and he needs a new one. I can't deny him his smoking time, but I'm a little disappointed that this only lasted a year. Granted, we live in the Midwest and experience some harsh winters, but the grill is always covered. So, buy it because it's a great product and is an excellent alternative to a real smoker if you don't have room for one, but don't be surprised if you're buying another one a year later. We're going to try spraying it with Rustoleum and hope for the best.
