The soft adjustable neoprene strap keeps the sunglasses in place and makes them easy, comfortable and fun to wear. The neoprene bands are equipped with a re-attachable safety release. It's normal for it to release under excessive strain. Sunglasses are recommended for ages 0-5 years, but please look at head circumference measurements for specific details. These sunglasses come with two (2) straps. The small strap is perfect for babies and up to 2 years: head circumference from 17-19.5 inches. The glasses don't fit that well, however I wonder if it's because my baby has a small head and will grow into them. They kind of dig into her cheeks and don't line up with her eyes. I'll update in a couple months when she's had time to grow. I don't know that it's the product's fault that they don't fit well, which is why it's 3 stars, but they advertise it for babies.
