The reason is that the third batch I ordered is not histidine at all. The taste, consistency, colour and amount in the capsule is different. The label says l-histidine but they have filled the bag with something else and customer care doesn’t respond. The only thing I can do is send the opened bags back which is ridiculous. It’s a real shame as the price was good and this product is hard to come by. I can’t imagine what unknown chemical I could have ingested by mistake!!AND because of this company’s failure, I bought histidine from a more reputable company, and found the taste an awful lot stronger. Their capsules are only 500 mg but the effect also seems a LOT greater than that of Vytox. I’ve been taking too much and been very alert all day but also stayed awake all night without any inclination to sleep. So though it’s more expensive, I’ll probably need much less of it.My original review: I’ve suffered from persistent insomnia for years and the only sleep remedies besides hypnotics are antihistamine compounds. I’ve suffered from restless legs and itching due to taking the latter. The situation is so difficult and worrying as I’m getting older (55) that I’ve had to take a really good look at it and try and figure it out. One thing that’s clear is that I suffer from low histamine levels and it is not a good thing! It can be a contributing factor in the development of Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s and what have you. This is the only histidine supplement I’ve found and it is helping me feel much better in myself. It immediately removes the agitation and itchiness. It’s too early to say how I will be able to deal with the insomnia but at least getting the body and brain to work more efficiently is a start. I take this along with countless other herbs and supplements, amongst others, I’m supplementing low dopamine levels which are associated with low histamine. I must say I find this seller’s labels a bit home made looking but apparently the products are fine. I’ve tried three and they all worked. One was quercetin which is an antihistamine and it really did aggravate the restlessness. Because of my chronic illness (EDS) I initially thought my mast cells are unruly, but they aren’t. I also have ADHD which is an opposite problem with low dopamine AND low histamine (amongst other things).
