I recently traded in my Jeep Wrangler (on which I could just throw my kayak on) and bought myself a new VW Tiguan-well, it’s a taller vehicle than I’m used to, and I can’t just throw my kayak on top of it without ruining it.I saw this item and thought-perfect!No one else had reviewed it, so I know I was taking a chance, but it seemed the perfect application for getting the kayak on my car by myself, and thankfully, it is. I can’t even begin to tell you how much easier it is to get my kayak on the j racks, and to be able to do it by myself has made going kayaking less stressful (which, that’s what it should be).Item came when they said it would, has easy assembly and works as designed. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Some suction issues, generally functional *by J***G on Reviewed in the United States on February 22, 2019* While cleaning the mounting area on the window is necessary for most loaders of this type, this product requires you to put significant direct downward pressure on the suction cup before engaging to ensure a secure fit. Arms do not project incredibly far from suction base, so roller must be mounted as high on back window as possible to provide clearance over roof. On my 2006 Honda Element, this isn't possible. The roller provides a solid resting/starting point for loading, but a roof pad is still needed to transition my kayak (2017 Hobie Outback) onto saddles. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very well built and Perfect for my Kayak loading needs. *by D***. on Reviewed in the United States on June 21, 2019* This one is far better and stronger than the competing brand I first bought here.IT's rollers are wider, angled to hold the kayak centered, and the suction mechanism is very high quality and solid as hell once the levers are fastened. I had to lean into this to make a firm seal, but its so sturdy it can take it. CLEAN the windshield first with a damp rag. Once attached, Give it a good pull test before loading a boat on it. Get to know the feel of a firm seal vs a weaker one.It does not stick well to the most curved rear windows, but moving it toward center just a few inches to a flatter portion helps.The missing fifth star:It folds somewhat but is not fully collapsible.
