In fact it's essentially the perfect winter duvet. It's plump, and stays plump so it doesn't get wrapped around or caught underneath you, but you stay underneath it. It's got the right amount of weight to it - not too light, not too heavy. It traps in heat well (to the extent that if you need to get up in the night, as long as you remember to "close" the bed when you do, it will still be gloriously warm when you return a few minutes later) but has enough loft that it doesn't cause me to overheat like many winter duvets do. It feels luxurious. Put it in a decent high-TC cotton cover and I'd even call it opulent.I always buy 100% cotton-covered duvets and use 100% cotton duvet covers as this really makes a difference to breathability and how nice it feels against skin, and in such a cover this duvet feels *really* nice. Does it "feel like down"? Not really, but that's no bad thing as down is heavier, tends to leak out, and changes shape without springing back. I like down pillows, but I think bouncy synthetic fillings work better for duvets.NB there is another product listing "Night Comfort Feels Like Down Duvet - 100% Silk-Like Organic Cotton Cover - Hypoallergenic Feather & Down Alternative Hollowfibre Filling" for the same price.
