No wood utensils should end up in the dishwasher, it isn't good for their longevity and will strip natural oils from the utensil. They don't impart flavor. They have a sturdy grain and should take abuse. They are attractive. They clean easily. They can be maintained by rubbing a bit of light-flavored olive oil into them after washing. They are three different lengths for convenience. But I was sure I still wouldn't like them.We have had them for a little while, now, and I do like them. They are quite attractive. They are comfortably light. They clean easily. I need this big spoon for stirring the initial stage of bread dough, as well as for big pots of soups and stews. Feels good and strong when using and they are attractive spoons. The only drawback is the lip at the base of the spoon connecting it to the handle. It makes it harder to use a spatula to clear off the spoon. A smooth transition from the spoon part to the handle would be preferred. That's the way my old favorite spoons are. Since there are 3 spoons, I would also prefer one or two to have a smaller spoon part.
