Β I purchased this mic to use with my Samsung Galaxy S6, when I film myself playing ukulele and singing. The mic definitely does a better job of picking up my voice, compared to the phone's built-in microphone. However, I've noticed a faint buzzing/ticking noise in the videos when I use the mic. While I'm actually singing or playing, it's very faint and only a little noticeable, but when I stop and the room is quiet, you can definitely hear it. And occasionally there will be even more noise, as demonstrated in the video. I don't have this problem with the built-in microphone, so I can only assume it has something to do with this particular mic, or it's just something that happens when trying to use a mic with a phone. I bought it to use with language programs that require speaking. The Mac's internal mic didn't work well for the voice unless you got 2-3 inches away. (Also can't stand the new earbuds with the mic.) On that basis, I am very happy with it.The problem is that when I plug the mic into my laptop, it turns off the internal speakers. So, I can speak or hear, but not both, which is not really useful for spoken language training. This is true for both the 13" and 15" MacBook Pro.In my work area, I have a Retina Display that has internal speakers in it, and those work when the mic is plugged into the laptop. So, I'll keep the mic but it's not as flexible as I wanted.
