Since the sheath is made of natural wood, it may become tight depending on the humidity and usage environment. In that case, please refer to the following. When the sheath is tight (Step 1) Adjust the slot by sawing the left and right sides in the sheath little by little with a thin saw (ex. keyhole saw). When sawing, please make sure to shave parallelly to the blade. Please do not saw only the front part in the sheath. When the sheath is tight (Step 2) Saw it a couple of times, insert the blade, and check how it fits. If you scrape too much from the beginning, the sheath will become too loose. Please saw it little by little to see how it looks. When the sheath is too loose (Step 1) Rest assured that you can make additional adjustments even if the sheath is shaved too much. Cut a thin piece of wood (you can tear disposable chopsticks into thin pieces) to a thickness of 1 to 2 mm into the groove width of the sheath. When the sheath is too loose (Step 2) Adhere the thin wood to the side groove of the sheath with adhesive. For gluing, insert the blade until it enters the sheath and waits for it to dry. It was one of his favorite gifts this year. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice little utility knife *by M***Y on March 8, 2023* Any kiridashi blade is going to be cooler than western utility knives, so you can't go wrong right out of the gate. I do have to admit that this one didn't come as razor sharp as I expected, but it certainly is sharp enough to be useful (and I expected to sharpen and maintain it anyway, so it didn't really matter to me). I'm not fond of how pell-mell the maker's notches in the sheath seem (two chunks cut out of the wood to help orient how you sheathe it). But I do like how readily the wood can be shaped and finished. I decided to stain and seal mine after smoothing the rather sharp factory edges of the sheath. It was a fun little short project.
