It does have a standard boxy torso shape which is why I won't be buying more than one of these. I have a bit of a belly but still broad upper body. At 5'11" 185lbs I'm swimming in the body of the Large but the back is just barely large enough to move comfortably, so I couldn't go to a Medium. The material is EXCELLENT! VERY LIGHTWEIGHT and BREATHABLE which is perfect since I live on Maui. (I find the Columbia fishing shirts to be not so breathable) This shirt is also very soft and comfortable tho. Some of the less expensive lightweight shirts (like Habit) feel very utilitarian. Not particularly UNcomfortable, but not something you would list as a positive. This shirt has a wonderful FEEL to it... You could have pajamas made from this material. The collar is a great, firm, triple fold collar, and I can roll up the back of the collar part way up to keep sun almost completely off my neck, while still having the front of the collar buttoned down so it doesn't flop around even in strong wind. Too bad there isn't an athletic cut version, or I'd but one in every color and wear them basically every day...
