Our sandstone Detroit jacket works as hard as the industrial city it’s named for. Constructed of tough 12-ounce, 100% cotton sandstone duck, it features warm sherpa lining in the body and quilted-nylon lining in the sleeves. Well outfitted for storage, the jacket includes a left-chest pocket with zipper closure, plus an inside pocket as well as two lower-front pockets with zipper closures. The adjustable cuffs and waist enhance fit, and a pleated bi-swing back adds comfort. Built Carhartt strong with triple-stitched main seams.

Review: Order a size down - I ordered a size down, based on a recommendation from someone my height and weight, and it fit perfectly. I am 5 foot 10 inches, 160 pounds. Normally I would order a medium, but the small was a perfect fit, even with a sweater on. Sleeve length is even a little too long, but it’s not a problem. Important side note: when I lift my arms, it’s still comfortable and flexible. I could easily work in this jacket. The small is the perfect size for my build. Great quality. Looks sharp.

**Q: What (winter) temperature is this rated for? Is it suitable for Maine winters?**
A: Carhartt does not temperature rate any of its garments because everyone has a different threshold on what they consider to be cold. This jacket is designed to be worn during the winter. However, it could require additional layering by some people.

**Q: is it possible to exchange my jacket which made in Mexico, for the one made in India? The India made jacket has a better blanket lining.**
A: I much prefer the made in Mexico Jackets. Took me 3 made in India Jackets to find one that the stitching wasn’t messed up. Be careful what you ask for.

**Q: There are two snaps at each sleeve. One snap setting gives me a lot of room at my wrist, the other setting is so tight. Is this normal for this jacket**
A: On my jacket, the first snap does have a loose fit around my wrist (which is how I wear it with gloves and what I prefer).  The second snap has a snug fit, but I wouldn't say it's tight.  The fitment of the snaps on your jacket might be due to a variation in the manufacturing process of each jacket, but that's just my guess.  Hope that helps.

I’m giving this product 5 stars for now based on the fact that I have other Carhartt products and they have served me well and I expect this one to do the same. I bought this jacket for work, I have a nice Sherpa lined rain defender Carhartt sweater but I knew wearing it to work (I’m a plumber) would snag and possibly ruin the outside. This material feels a lot more abrasion resistant and will hold up for my line of work. I live in Florida, and although it doesn’t snow where I live, it’s not uncommon for the temperatures to drop below freezing early in the morning and feel like the high 20’s. I love the blanket lining and it is VERY warm (for me at least). I bought a large and I’m glad that I did. A medium would have definitely fit better (I’m 6’0, 185 athletic build with broader shoulders than average) but my wife and I do like to vacation in colder areas and having this in a large will allow me to layer if needed. The length isn’t that short cut because the jacket is a relaxed fit and fits loosely. As a service plumber it looks professional and in my opinion can be dressed up and worn out to dinner or a night out in the town or dressed down through rough working environments. Lastly, I feel I got lucky because as the others have posted their pictures, their tags say that theirs were made in other countries, but mine was made right here in the USA, hopefully you get one made here too!
