It depends but if the wood is not complete smooth or is porous, these mats will not stick as well! Am I missing something?** A: I've only stuck this to our dining table, but you have to make sure both surfaces are completely clean and dry. To seal the green bowl, I place the bowl where I want it, push down inside the bowl, then press around the mat outside of the bowl. Pull to make sure it sticks. I have not had success with getting the gray sectioned tray to suction at all. The sections plate didn’t stick for some reason. Don’t know if I got a dud or what. I hate to say I really prefer the ezpz bowl but it is $16 and I got a bowl, plate and 2 spoons for approx $18. The spoons are very nice and soft. I will be returning it but I really think it’s a decent product.
