Consistency feels and taste like flavored sugar which isn't bad except it was messy to use at times. It left sugar on my lips and face as if I literally ate a full on sugary snack when I used it. This is the probably the reason I used it more than I needed to during a wilderness backpacking trip where we weren't permitted to bring pogey bait. During that trip I didn't mind constantly licking the sugar off my lips and face. However, during regular use, I found this detracting from its overall effectiveness as a moisturizing lip scrub. It may need thicker consistency to make the sugar a more effective exfoliator.
