However, in order for Pearl Izumi to vent their jacket they left large open cutouts under thearm pit area, which is hard to see on the photo of the black jacket. I didn't want these large cut out gaps in my jacket, easily seen if you should move or lift you arms, so I returned mine. It is very light weight, would probably keep you warm with several base layers under the jacket. Also be forewarned, they run super small, so order a size up. I have worn this for short runs and now a mountain hike. It defn blocks out wind but gives you air for your body to be airy. I wish there was a pocket inside although there is a pocket in the back but its really to air out your back. So if you have it open you can't put anything because it may pop out. But I love this steal. It does fit me perfectly. But that being said, if you are a bit more bigger on the top either the chest or stomach, not a great option. But I love every part of it. it keeps me cool in the fall when I am warming up and when I take it off its so light i don't feel it bouncing if I tie it up. What I love also is when your running, you can easily have three layers, if you layer with thin layers.
