**Q: Are the holes in the rails pre-drilled? If so how far apart are they?**
A: Yes, they are predrilled.  Approx. 18 inches apart.  My husband had to drill his own to make it line up with a stud.

**Q: what size thickness of door does this set accomidate?**
A: I used it on a 1.75" thick door and it worked fine.  I'm sure you could also use this on a 1.3875" door as well.

I am happy with the final product.  My husband wasn't a happy camper having to hang the hardware.  The instructions are horrible.  Everything was measured in millimeters so we had to convert to inches.  It would have been nice to have steel spacers to adjust out from the wall.
