I finally had the chance to take my Kayak back on the lake and test out the replacement skeg. MBN was great to work with me in resolving my initial problem. This skeg is much stronger than the one that comes with your Intex Kayak. Make sure you understand that is a semi permanent installation. My kayak tracked much better with this skeg. I gave 5 stars to reflect the excellent and prompt customer service provided by MBN. I have referred many Intex kayak owners to this replacement solution and hope they follow through. It will talk a little work to get it on but you won’t be disappointed at the performance increase and peace of mind that it shouldn’t come off while in the water. Here is an update on my previous one star review. The seller was quick to reach out to me, issue a full refund and discuss a possible next step. This was a professional action and speaks of good customer service which is why I’ve changed to 3 stars. I might re-evaluate the replacement Skeg in the future. (Old) I have contacted the seller as the skeg I received does not fit, nor slide in well. I’ve tried sanding it down and using a soft hammer and it still is not in all the way. The front part broke off as I tried to remove it the first time. It is a very tight fit. Had to use a mallet and tap it in slowly. Fits tight and stays in great. I can deflate the kayak and fit it back in travel bag without removing this skeg. Kayak tracked a good deal better than with the original.
