I need to avoid very strong coffee and roasting is an indication of taste, not caffeine levels.** A: I found the coffee to be strong, but I just used less coffee and it was great for me. The flavour is a bit like almonds or marzipan, light and quaffable. The downside with buying this through Amazon, though, is freshness. On the day this was delivered it was 35 days after its roasting date. Now that is still a lot fresher than almost anything you'll find on the high street -- even Whittards expensive offerings can be 3 months or older at PoS -- but in the speciality coffee world, it is past its best. Were you to buy direct from Union, this would cost £3 more, but would arrive within a few days of being roasted. Perhaps you might get lucky with Amazon's stock rotation and get a fresher batch, but it's clearly pot luck.
