    A satisfying conclusion!

3.5 stars — I devoured this one in less than a day as well, it’s just an easy and enticing read. And overall, I found the series very entertaining. I’m not sure if I’ll read the next 3 books about future generations…I kind of like where I ended up.Throughout this whole series I’ve experienced bouts of confusion, and I will admit I had hoped this last book would clear things up. But I was still confused on a few things…and other things just didn’t feel fully explained. Heck, I thought we’d learned who the Moonlight Prince was before the final battle, so then I was confused in the final battle. Now saying all that, I did get answers to a lot of my questions, and some things were tied up more neatly. But there were still things that left me wanting answers, or at least more thorough answers if that makes sense (like what exactly happened to Kayla when she was tortured? Why mention it at all if it doesn’t play in the story and we don’t learn about it?).There was still a LOT of death and carnage and destruction. I’m not used to reading a story where so many people die in such gruesome manners. It’s…hard on the heart. I may not know them, but decimation is still decimation. All in all, I was pretty satisfied with how the overarching plot played out though, and the reasons we were given for certain behaviors. It was fun when I would start to see how things that happened in previous books tied in to the finale. There’s a part of me that wanted to know a bit more about some things, but not enough to severely impact my enjoyment.I still maintain that the blurbs on these books are just super lackluster and uninformative. And that the uses of “vampire”, “fae”, “hell, and “demons” is kind of misleading. It was really just a whole new world with strange characters and creatures, that only vaguely resembled what they were named after. So *very* nontraditional. But it was a fairly rich world that they created, with interesting mythology and history and all that. I could picture it very easily. So despite being fussy about explanations, this series was definitely a fun ride for me, and I’m so glad I took a chance on it!

Breath-taking finale in an fresh and addicting series!

"He underestimates my capacity to anticipate danger and plan for it. I may not relish my title as Prince of War, but I have earned it and I do not wear it lightly.... I gave a part of myself away, a part of my humanity, when I took the throne. When I became half person, half prince. Half human, half duty. When I became the Prince of War. The Prince of Death." --Fenris Vane, Prince of WarWHAT A FINALE!I really believe that this was more of Fen's book to shine than Ari's. We (along with Fen) learn so much more about him and his true past and how he ultimately came to be. He grows so much into himself, and I got the feeling that he finally feels comfortable and accepts who he is. I really loved being in his head more and seeing his character fully fleshed out.Don't get me wrong though, the other characters definitely had their moments as well. I'm so proud of Ari for finally choosing herself and standing up for HERSELF and what SHE believes in (even though it sorta breaks my heart along with hers). We didn't get to see much of Asher in this one--which I was disappointed in because I love his carefree attitude--but he finally gets his HEA with his Karasi! In addition, I was disappointed with Ace's inaction and his DECISION at the end of this book; I wanted him to do so much more in this series and for me, he never reached his full potential and really accomplished something. On the other hand, I fell more in love with Dean in this book; my heart breaks for his sadness and his ending was the only one I felt dissatisfied with (where is his Karasi?!). But when he tells Fen that he spiked his drink I was dying!! Priceless!Other than that, I don't believe there's really anything left for me to say. I love this series (even though the transition to book 2 was a little rough), and I wholeheartedly recommend giving it a try. The authors succeeded in making me fall in love with these characters--vampires, humans, fae, Druids, and Spirits--the story, the romance between Ari and Fen and all of the brothers, and ultimately the deep yearning for peace. VG is now of my new favorite series, and I hope you give it a chance![Original review posted on Goodreads on 05-02-17.]

I am sad this is finished

The losses in this book were very great and all seemed to fall apart more and more. I even am sorry that Levi died, because finally he changed his ways to prove his worth to his Father. I wish I could have seen more of him changing, but I see that this might have been easier for him. And a good writer doesnt kill only the characters that are bad, some shall be missed. I never read What Will the next books be about, but once this was finished and I did a sneak peek into the next one I felt a loss, because I Will not find out more about the characters I have frown to love, but there Will be another generation and villaines entirely. As for the writers. They have hopped up in my top ones. I am so glad I finally picked the books up and started to read. And i love the writing style, but even more so the world which is Made so breathtaking. One of the rare series I want to be selfish of and keep on my shelf in physical form even if I dont pick up the same book again.
