We have a drawer near it that would make it a close fit.** A: I think it’s about 1/2” deep. You could modify it and cut off the tabs. I modified it by drilling screw holes on the sides of the vent to secure in place. **Q: Can you walk on these?** A: Sure , but they’ll bend **Q: How do you screw these on when the screw holes are on the inside lip?** A: The screws must be fastened from the inside of the cabinet, after the louvers are installed from the outside. If access to the interior isn't available, you could possibly use a small bead of construction adhesive to glue the louvers to the cabinet **Q: Can these be painted?** A: They are metal so they should be. I would scuff up the paint so the new paint will adhere.
