Back in the day, we used to use a garlic clove to "cure" and rub it on the side of the deck so the cards would not split on the edges. These new ones look more sturdy.

A: Yes,  Using these cards for readings really comes with in. Search on Pinterest under Las Barajas Espanolas or books under Las Cartas Espanolas. they are books that give the meaning rather it be reverse or upright.

**Q: Why do some Spanish deck have 40 cards and others 50? Which deck is used to play Bastos?**
A: Spanish decks usually have 40 or the extended 48. I dont think I've seen 50. I'm not sure what game Bastos is but in case it's the same as Conquian then it would be the 40 deck.
