Review: Great earbuds at an amazing price - My go-to earbuds have been the Powerbeats 3 for many years. I love the fullness of the sound, although the high-mids can lack some clarity. Last year I decided to get full wireless earbuds and thought I would give one of the cheaper alternatives a try. I got the Tozo T6, and ended up liking them quite a bit. Recently I got the Tozo NC9 to see if there is any improvement, and besides, they are so inexpensive! After tweaking these a fair amount, I finally got a sound I really like that is comparable to the Powerbeats 3. Soundwise, these are not much different from the T6, though I think the T6 have a little more low end out-of-the-box, but this can be adjusted with EQ. The NC9s fit in the ear more comfortably and the ear tips do not protrude as far down into the ear canal. The NC9s practically disappear into the ear and don't have the telltale tail hanging out like Apple AirPods. The NC9s do have noise cancelling, but that is not a feature that I care that much about, so I won't comment on it. I normally wear these on my morning walk or jog. I listen to music on my Pixel 6 Pro and use the PowerAmp app, which has an equalizer. For the Powerbeats 3, I keep the low end fairly flat and boost the upper mids. With the NC9, I use a modified version of the Rock EQ setting in the Tozo app, which is bass heavy, and then also boost the bass quite a bit in PowerAmp as well as a slight high end boost and mid cut. They do not sound quite as full in the low end as the Powerbeats 3, though close, but are crisper in the mids and highs. The low end is perhaps a little punchier. It is crucial to use the correct size ear tips, and also to put the ANC on the Noise Cancellation setting to get the fullest sound. Play around with these settings to see what you like. For me the additional EQ in the PowerAmp app is also essential in addition to the Tozo app EQ. I am very pleased with the overall design and sound of these earbuds. I rarely have a connection problem, and the charging case is wonderful. I am blown away considering the price point. I do recommend using EQ to dial in the sound and am glad that Tozo provides an app for this. I plan on using the NC9 as my goto earbuds considering sound, comfort, and convenience. Update: On a long walk I noticed that the Noise Cancellation mode can produce some subtle artifacts in the sound that bothered me for critical listening. I am now playing around with the custom mode for ANC to see if I can get the fuller sound with no noticeable artifacts. Update 2: I have settled on the Custom Pattern for ANC and am quite happy with the sound I am getting. I really enjoy these earbuds. I will attach some pictures of my settings. For reference, I bought a pair of Beats Studio Buds Plus earbuds, thinking they would improve on the sound of the Powerbeats3 I have and be stiff competition for the Tozo NC9. I was quite surprised, though, that I could not get them to sound full in the low end. The Beats don't come with an EQ, but I did use the EQ in the PowerAmp app. I could not get a full sound. Perhaps the Beats sound much better with iPhones, and not so much with Android/Pixel phones. Anyway, I was surprised, disappointed, and returned them. Review: My New Favorite Earbuds - I actually love these, which was somewhat unexpected given the price tag. I'm not an audiophile, but I can somewhat tell the difference between poor sounding earbuds and decent ones. Trust me, I've purchase a few pairs of the not-so-good earbuds and use them long enough until I can find a better pair. The sound on these is not going to knock your socks off, but for the price, and with the EQ tools in the app, they've got decent sound quality. The fit is actually better than most earbuds that I purchase. My left ear must have a weird shape because a lot of earbuds fall out of that ear pretty easy, especially when I get sweaty or when I'm chewing food. I haven't tried intense exercise with these yet, but they did pass the food-chewing test. In other words, I don't feel the left earbud slowly creeping out of my ear canal while I'm eating, which is what usually happens with other earbuds. The earbud sync up to my iPhone quickly, and the tap controls on the earbuds are very responsive. I like that you can tap the left earbud to activate/deactivate noise canceling. It comes in handy when someone is trying to talk to me through the noise canceling; however, the single tap does switch you to Tozo's "Transparency Mode" instead of "Normal Mode", which mean the earbuds will amplify any exterior sounds which can be grating in loud environments. Just a caution if you have super sensitive hearing already. I can't speak much about how they work for phone calls. In a quiet environment, the person on the other end of the line has said they can hear me just fine. I'd be interested to see how they function in a noisy environment. My basic AirPods are still my go-to for phone conversations, just because I've never had the person on the other end of the line say they're having a problem hearing me, that is if the AirPod will stay in my left ear, which it won't whenever I'm walking around. The noise canceling is probably my favorite feature. I used the earbuds on a plane, and I felt they did an acceptable job of filtering out the plane noise and allowing me to enjoy my music and movies. They worked so well on a 14-hour car ride that sometimes the driver was trying to talk to me, and I had no idea he was speaking unless I was looking directly at him. The battery also lasted the entire car ride, though I confess I only had them on for about a quarter of the trip, and I put them back in the case a few times to recharge them, even though they weren't even halfway close to dying on me. When we arrived out our location, the battery life in the case wasn't even close to being expired. Finally, I can't speak to the longevity, since I've only owned them for a few weeks. I hope they last me at least a few years, at which point, I'll probably buy another pair, if the price is the same. If I get a couple years out of them, then they're definitely worth it. **Q: I want to be like the girl in the picture.  If i wear these while crossing rail road tracks, will these block out the annoying sound of the train?**
A: Trains are really unpredictable. Even in the middle of a forest two rails can appear out of nowhere, and a 1.5-mile fully loaded coal drag, heading east out of the low-sulfur mines of the PRB, will be right on your ass the next moment.

I was doing laundry in my basement, and I tripped over a metal bar that wasn't there the moment before. I looked down: "Rail? WTF?" and then I saw concrete sleepers underneath and heard the rumbling.

Deafening railroad horn. I dumped my wife's pants, unfolded, and dove behind the water heater. It was a double-stacked Z train, headed east towards the fast single track of the BNSF Emporia Sub (Flint Hills). Majestic as hell: 75 mph, 6 units, distributed power: 4 ES44DC's pulling, and 2 Dash-9's pushing, all in run 8. Whole house smelled like diesel for a couple of hours!

Fact is, there is no way to discern which path a train will take, so you really have to be watchful. If only there were some way of knowing the routes trains travel; maybe some sort of marks on the ground, like twin iron bars running along the paths trains take. You could look for trains when you encounter the iron bars on the ground, and avoid these sorts of collisions. But such a measure would be extremely expensive. And how would one enforce a rule keeping the trains on those paths?

**Q: Do you hear your jaw when eating? How do you minimise that?**
A: The answer in physics to your question is that sound travels through denser matter (like bone tissue in your jaw) faster than lesser dense matter (like outside when a car drives by, the sound travels through the matter of air). When a person chews food with any type of headphones in, it’s virtually impossible from a physics standpoint to cancel that sound because the earbuds cancel out sounds from outside the body only almost exactly at the pivot point between the larger mass of the skull and jaw; both being dense matter. This cancelation of outside-the-body sound basically creates a megaphone for all other sources of sound within the body since the body is exponentially more dense in matter than the matter in air; especially in this case since the pivot point of pure bone is between the skull and jaw exactly where our ears are located. The type of noise cancellation Tozo is referring to is sound carried through the matter in the air we breathe outside of our bodies.

**Q: Why does earbud in case lose battery? If I just use the left one the right one will say low battery even though it hasn’t been used and had a full ch.**
A: It has nothing to do with cleaning or earwax because mine came that way right out of the box! I charged the case and earbuds but both earbuds would still say low battery. I tried them out but never got to actually use and I was really disappointed because these buds had the best ANC I've tried and trust me I've tried many do to noisy neighbors. I was thinking of buying another pair because of anc but since it seems to be an issue for others, I'm moving on.

**Q: Is there a way to switch anc mode off without turning transparent mode on, or is transparent mode just the absence of anc?**
A: Touching the left earbud 1x scrolls through the three modes:
1. ANC on - noise cancelling mode
2. ANC off - noise cancelling off
3. Transparent Mode - uses the mic to lightly amplify sounds outside of your ears, to make it sound like you don't have plastic jammed in your ear canal.

I hope they last me at least a few years, at which point, I'll probably buy another pair, if the price is the same. If I get a couple years out of them, then they're definitely worth it. So far, they are my favorite pair of earbuds, out of the four I own

Update. Is it true they didnt last longer than 1 year? Yes. But then i tried to replace them at a similar price point and the competition is horrible. These are the most comfortable earbuds. The sound is really good. The noise cancelling is really good. I ended up returning 3 other pairs frpm competitors bfore buying the NC9s a second time. So FWIW these are great earbuds even if you need to buy them a few times hahaha. Riginal review: I've had these earbuds for 1 year now. They are inexpensive and functional pretty well for about 8 months. After that I started having issues with the right ear bud. It won't sit in the case properly so it turns itself off. Which then means I need to manually power it on every time I put it in my ear. Now recently its starting to not turn on. Ultimately these are good in a pinch but they are not going to be a long term product
