It's genetic) These clippers are so much easier to use than regular thumb-press type clippers, & do a much better job of getting the top sides of the nail. I always had great difficulty clipping those side tops with regular straight clippers, so they would become ingrown. These clippers solved that problem. It's very simple to reach that top edge with these so no more ingrown top side edges for me! Plus, I've never accidently cut my skin with these as I did so often with those other straight clippers! That said, these clippers are curved, so it's super easy to clip the edge that goes with the curve, more difficult to get the opposite edge. Still possible, just not as simple or exact. These work so well though, I plan to buy another pair with the opposite direction curve just to make my task quicker & easier. As shown, these clippers aren't fancy.
