### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Vanilla android through and through.

I've had a variety of smart phones and alot of experience with different Android products. And when it comes to Android you really can't go wrong with Google's Nexus line of phones. My previous driver was a Nexus 4 and ever since owning that device and getting as much use out of it that I did I decided it would be best to stick with what I liked from my previous experience in moving forward with the Nexus 5X. That being said I am very happy thus far with the way the phone has been working. It's a great phone at a great price and I am very impressed with how smoothly it has been working.The major issue for me that I thought I was going to have with this phone is the 2gb 's of RAM but don't let that sway you. This phone handles everything I do throughout the day and then some with Nexus like ease. I am very happy with the camera and the performance I am getting out of it. This is a fast phone and especially so while browsing. Ultimately you pay for what you get. With this phone you pay up a little bit for a great Android user experience with Google's no bloatware / vanilla version of Android on upper mid tier hardware. If you are looking for a solid phone that won't break the bank and works when you need it to... look no further. This is a great phone for daily use and should be up there on your list even amongst other flagship phones while shopping Android. So long as I have a choice I will be sticking with Vanilla Android.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Googles Nexus series feel the best of any android phone I've used

After having several renditions of Samsung's Galaxy S# and later spending a year with a Moto X (which I managed to drop flat on its face and cause the screen to go black) I decided to take the plunge into the land of stock android. Looking back, I shouldn't have ever done anything else. Googles Nexus series feel the best of any android phone I've used, stock droid has a very convenient flow and blends many of Google's features seamlessly. The existence of bloatware or unwanted apps preinstalled is very slim, almost nonexistent when compared to Samsung's phones and even the Moto X which is sort of a hybrid of the two.I know I was late to the party with this phone, I purchased it just a few weeks before Google announced the new Pixel lineup. But I'm glad that I opted for this phone over the new Pixel. The Pixel looks like a marvelous spectacle of hardware, but I really just wanted a mid-line phone that ran stock android (which is much harder to find than you'd expect). The phone market is extremely saturated by now, and since they are volatile devices (both physically and technologically) I really wasn't keen on spending $600+ on the latest device every year.I hope this phone will last for two or three years and that when I do eventually update that a similar model will be available in the future. It does everything I want: Makes calls, has SMS, is unlocked, has a fairly decent camera/video recorder and runs stock android. Getting this phone setup on my phone provider (ATT) was as simple as moving the SIM card over (a tool to open the sim container is even provided in the box). The phone regularly gets updates from Google always keeping the device running the latest software.My only problem is that the actual hardware of the phone can be sluggish. Since this is a mid-level phone, it doesn't quite have the snappiness of the top level devices. There is some lag sometimes when opening several apps, or when trying to make too many inputs at once. It's really not a huge issue, though, and compared with the Moto X or many of the Samsung phones I've had the device is overall much more responsive.It may be a hard sell to buy this phone now, given that it is fairly old. But if you just want a "phone" as in a smartphone without a dozen extra gimmicks added, this should be the go-to. It does everything well and doesn't try to be anything beyond that. Plus, it's unlocked which saves several headaches for those wishing to travel abroad with their phone. Overall, I'm satisfied. It seems very simple to create a device like this, and I've always wondered why this sort of phone is not the norm.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Phone At A Great Price!

My recent phones include a Windows phone (great operating system, but I grew tired of MSFT getting their app game together) and a Samsung Galaxy S5 that I enjoyed. I have kids so the camera is important and it doesn't disappoint. Both shutter speed and quality of images are great. It was also fantastic not having a ton of crappy bloatware apps taking up screen and storage space. Fingerprint scanner on the back to unlock has also been surprisingly more useful than I imagined. Performance has been snappy so far even when leaving apps open. It's also great that it can be used on any US carrier.So far I only have a couple minor gripes. It feels a little too thin without a case, but once I get my case I think it will probably be perfect. Thesecond has to do with Google eliminating a separate Exchange email app in Android. I don't like having my Gmail and my work email in the same app.Update: I got a Verus case and think it feels and looks great. I also had some issues with getting my hotspot to work and had to do the steps below to be able to use the wifi hotspot that is included with my MetroPCS plan. The issue after turning on the hotspot was my devices would connect via wifi, but have no internet connectivity. After performing these steps it worked fine. (...)
