Wine bottles? *by U***R on Reviewed in the United States on August 8, 2019* When I received the bottles, which were in 2 boxes of 6 with cardboard dividers, I washed the bottles and caps in soap and water, and then let them soak a bit. Then I rinsed everything completely so the water was clear. These are listed as being made from Borosilicate Glass, so I put all 12 bottles in my 900 Watt microwave and turned it to high for 2 minutes, then 1 minute more. The glass is quite hot at that point, but can be handled just barely. I turned each one over to remove the few drops of remaining water and set them upright to dry completely.I purchased these to use with wine. I have the Vacu Vin Wine Saver, which does work, but not to the level I would like. I only like to drink about 4 ounces of wine, so I got these bottles to use for wine preservation. I will open a new bottle of excellent red wine, and using a funnel, fill each of 6 bottles to the top. The caps have cone shaped inserts that will seal nicely, and I think maybe push out a few drops of wine so there is basically no oxygen. Then I will wash the outside of the 6 filled wine bottles in cold water and store them for use during the next week or more.
