One of the pair adjusted for anti-shock, one did not adjust (manufacturer's quality control missed this). Like others said, they have both flip lock and anti-shock features. Mine work fine. Poles with both those features and cork handles are hard to find and far more expensive than the SolTrek poles. These poles are both light and sturdy.
