The small lid that seals the sipping hole now locks into place and can't be removed when sealed. All in all, this is a great upgrade, all the problematic points of the old KeepCup have been addressed thoroughly. Regarding smells that some people complain it retains: OK the plastic lid does retain some coffee smell if you keep it closed with coffee for hours and it does spoil the taste just a tiny bit (hey, it's just a bit of plastic, it's not magical) but it washes really well and doesn't smell afterwards. To hear that the glass retains coffee smell is plain silly, you obviously haven't washed it well.
