That is why pool pumps are not submersible and are outside the pond. I highly recommend an aerator as they provide bubbling convection to bring a pond to the same temperature. In deeper ponds and lakes water stratifies leaving hotter, oxygen rich water in the upper layers and cooler oxygen depleted water at deeper depths. Used in a pool, this could bring temperatures down for you.
