A vigorous and hardy grower. It’s extremely hardy to -10º f to -20º f and it takes full sun too. It will probably need shelter in the South from hot sun especially if you have high humidity too. Purple red sheaths on new culms. Very vigorous, rapid growth and cold hardy. Dense, slightly weeping habit. Wind tolerant. Prefers organic soils with good drainage. Thrives in sun and also tolerates shade.
