I really wanted a larger field, but just couldn't bring myself to pay thousands of dollars for a field this large. I went into this not expecting the best, especially after all of the other singer embroidery reviews. I really love this machine and am very happy with it. I first read the manual and when I received this a week before Christmas I immediately started using it. I will say there is a definite learning curve. I don't use the machines preset tension (2.8) I usually bump it down to 2.2 or 2.0. I love the large embroidery field, especially for the price of the machine. The touch screen is easy to use and I really like the easy snap hoops. Even better then my brother hoops. I just make sure that I am extra careful and insert them straight because of people saying that the machine quits registering them after a while. I have made t-shirts and other personalized gifts with this and have had no problems. I have had no problems importing designs into the machine from the provided USB stick.I will say this is not a machine for the beginner, definitely get a brother if you are just starting out. At first I believed it was user error so I stuck with it and researched and read every article I could find o n this machine (there aren't many except for what is on the singer website which is not helpful at all!) EVERY SINGLE other project I do I have to adjust tension no matter the fabric/stabilizer/thread. Sometimes I have had to adjust tension in the MIDDLE of a project. I will be contact Singer and this is horrible but I'm hoping it's something wrong with my machine and not a design flaw because at this point I'm unable to return it. . .
