As you can imagine, brands and types of papers, paints, and other watercolor supplies have grown exponentially since I last did watercolor, so I had to buy several different brands and types of paper before I found the one I love. THIS IS IT, in case that wasn't already clear. It has the perfect balance of texture and uniformity in both finish and thickness without the typical roughness of other mid-grade cold-pressed papers. Plus, it accepts both color and wash beautifully and consistently. It's also heavy enough to not warp/buckle much when you do extensive color washing without taping. That's not to say it DOESN'T buckle at all, but I lay down tons of water on some of my prints and also never tape my paper down before I start to work. I started out with this paper but it made me so frustrated I almost gave up entirely and when I put my mind to something, I'm like a dog with a bone. I use this to strictly for brushstroke drills, and it's so bleep bleep finicky it helped me learn water control. But I think you'll be a LOT happier if you purchase an Arteza watercolor journal, even though the weight is less than 140lb. For anything using wet/wet technique, I go with nothing short of 100% cotton in any brand and cut the paper into quarters to save money. **Q: What is the content of the paper? It isn't stated in the description, but I would like to know if it's 100% cotton or not.** A: This is not 100% cotton. It's pretty good as far as cellulose paper goes though! Just don't expect it to hold up like Arches or other 100% cotton papers if you're completely soaking it or doing lots of scrubbing. **Q: Would this paper be good to use to print an image on, then colorize the printed image with watercolor pencils and water applied with brushes?** A: Well, one thing is that you might have to cut it down to make a standard size width. It’s 9” across and your printer is probably set up to use normal 8.5 x 11 paper. So there’s that. I believe I tried it some time back and it didn’t work in my HP multi-function printer; however, I have another idea for you. This is 140 lb paper. If you are looking for heavier paper than normal, abs not specifically watercolor paper- here’s a thought. I have used the Nenah 8.5 x11, 110 lb paper and that runs fine through my printer. I use that to print free images I’ve found online and I do coloring that way. I can color with watercolor pencils abs then go over it with my water/aqua brushes. They only let a teeny bit of water out at a time and that paper holds up. It also holds up great with markers and no bleed-thru. I have used the Crayola fine tip markers, Tombow, the Bic markers that are similar to sharpies and those come in ulta fine and fine tip, as well, and others. I have on order some 120 lb paper to try and 1) see if it will work for water coloring printed images & 2) go through my printer. I haven’t used the Neenah 110 lb for my actual watercolor paints, because I don’t think it would hold up. I’m not a real artist, I just do it for fun, and make cards, for stress relief, etc. **Q: can you just put it on the easel?
