I've tested it out once so far, fully filled up and no leaks even when shaken upside down. Note that 5 gals of water weighs 40 pounds! So having two handles is very useful. The spigot is great: simply turn it to go from off, trickle, or any amount up to a full faucet force. I carry a bottle of reverse osmosis drinking water from home every day, and top this up with the excess (if there is any) at the end of the day. I use some here and there for in-office meals, or if I run out of drinking water. This is sturdy. It flexes a little when it is nearly full, but not much - certainly doesn't feel cheap or flimsy. The handle feels good. The top cap and spigot fit well and don't leak. I take the top cap off a few times each week for filling. The opening is a good size, easy to fill without spilling. The spigot is easy to control. You can get a good flow and still shut it off quickly. It comes with a second front cap, a blank one. Whichever one you aren't using can be stored inside the can, under the top lid. There is also a flexible nozzle, which can be stowed in a recess in the side of the can. The nozzle didn't seem like anything special, but it worked fine. I don't use the nozzle normally.
