The pillow is soft but holds your head securely in a position where you can breathe, yet it doesn't give you the feeling of being choked. The pillow comes in a super soft zippered cover, and to my surprise, there was another cover in the box FOR SUMMER! It is breathable and cool, and you don't sweat. The "winter" cover is a soft, brown, flocked fabric that is comfortable and soothing. Each has a loop-and-button on the front corners to allow you to keep the pillow where it's supposed to be. Still no choking sensation!Changing the covers is easy, just unzip and remove the unwanted cover and replace it with the desired cover. It's not hard to work the pillow into the form-fitting cover. I will put this to the ultimate test in a couple of months, as I'll be taking a red-eye flight and can't stand airplane pillows!
