Does exactly what its supposed to do.

If one has a long lens...500-600mm or long zoom 150-600mm...this is a MUST if the foot is not already Arca-Swiss compatible. The two screws eliminate ANY twist and it works perfectly with my RRS clamps. Even my little Oben BE-117 will clamp onto it and hold it...but that head is reserved for my Platypod so will never see actual use with a BIG lens. But as a "proof of concept" I gave it a go.The point is, if one is using Arca-Swiss type clamps, this should work with just about everything unless they're not truly Arca compatible. Easily recommended.

    Great product

*by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on October 9, 2017*

Its a Wimberley product. That kind of says it all. Same excellent quality as everything else I have from them. I purchased this plate to replace a P-20 on my Sony 70-400 G II mounted to a a99ii. I also purchased a Wimberley Sidemount WH-200-S (NOT the same as the Sidekick) and wasn't sure that the P-20 would have adequate length to balance the lens + a a99ii with the battery grip. As it turns out, it was possible to balance the setup with the P-20, but just barely. The longer lens plate made it much easier and is more flexible. The longer plate also makes it easier to mount the camera/lens on the Sidemount.Great workmanship. Great finish. Great materials. Its just a great product overall.Side note: $50+ for a lens plate may seem like a lot of money, but after spending the better half of a day surfing for an equivalent plate, the cheapest I could find that even came close was still $25-28. So, in theory, you might save $20-25. The question is whether saving $20-25 is worth it when your body/lens comes loose and lands on the rocks (or on the rocks at the bottom of a cliff or lake). Some (quite a few) plates don't have the little screws at each end. Some look like the coating is actually paint. My experiences with the cheap metals coming from China doesn't give me any warm fuzzies either. Dimensions can also be a problem since besides there being no real 'Arca' standard, the Chinese seem to have issues using rulers. There are all kinds of ways in which trying to save $20 can lead to a catastrophic mess, none of which I wasn't to experience. Want to save $20? Stay out of Starbucks for a week.

Get a quality plate for big, expensive lens

*by P***R on Reviewed in the United States on December 15, 2020*

I've only had it a short while, so time will tell. The build and material quality appears to be excellent, and so far it has held up very well under a big, heavy lens. Two bolts are definitely better than one, and the tripod foot for my lens supports two, so this was the plate to go with, and it's just not going to twist out of alignment. No problems with the fit or stability into my QR, although now I feel like I need a better QR.It's really not too high a price if you consider what you are trusting it do - you don't want the manufacturer to take short cuts to get the cost down a few bucks.
