A: yes if sitting on the ground the line will start around 4 inches in front of the laser

**Q: Can you make it so you have the lines on the ceiling?**
A: yes. it will project a vertical line that will be on the ceiling. I used it to align recessed light holes in ceiling board.

**Q: Would this be a good choice for a tile and flooring contractor?**
A: I would say no do to it only will do vertical and horizontal line. At a time not together I will try to find one that would do the vertical and horizontal together
