These look ever so slightly elegant. I love them so much that I really want it to rain already so that I can show them off and feel french.I did not expect arch support, so I am not disappointed by the lack of it in this boot. I dont expect much from rain boots other than quality, beauty, and traction. These are that.Soft, pliable, very flexible natural rubber... I get the idea that these boots will last me a very long time... were talking 10 years at least.The color was a dice roll for me... they only had purple in my size and at the right price... so I sort of cringed but ordered them anyway. I like purple, but it tends to be a color I tire of easily. Well, it was a happy surprise when I opened the box and saw that this purple is a nice, very dark and deep purple... dark grape... Its a purple I dont think Ive ever encountered before. Not a loud bright purple by any means. Its a purple that I can wear and not feel loud in. I absolutely LOVE this color now that I am seeing it in person. It will go well with black, brown, blue jeans, etc.Very pleased with my purchase.ONE CAVEAT however: They do run big, however I wear a 7 1/2. I ordered a 6... The six is just a wee bit smaller than it should be for my foot, ideally. I can live with it, but be warned. I wont be able to wear thick socks with these boots ever. They are great with a pair of jeans or with a pair of shorts for example.The dimensions are the following:Shaft is equal to 15.25" from arch when eel measures approximately 1.5"; Platform is about 0.75" and the opening is 14" more or less.I still cannot believe I bought a pair of the famous brand LE CHAMEAU at this price... it is more than a steal. They are very comfortable and the size 9 I ordered really fits as I expected! I am so happy with my purchase.To keep them in good condition spray a rubber protection on it anytime you wash them or the rubber, as a natural material, will deteriorate gradually. I wanted to leave a comment because the reviews are so varied...it was very confusing! I typically wear anywhere between an 8 to 8.5 with slightly wider feet so I lean toward the 8.5 in certain designers. I ordered the 9 because it seemed between the choice of 8 and 9, I should go up a size to have room for thicker socks. I will also mention I have average calves and have never had a problem with boots being too tight in the calf area. That being said, the calves were very fitted...I could prob wear leggings but definitely no jeans. As far as the footbed goes...they were huge! I was swimming in these shoes and it was comical. I do like that they are super lightweight and will pack easily which is why I didn't go for hunters. I'd say if you can get the right fit...these shoes fit the bill! And the only rain boot I can see that is more wedge than heel.
