## Description

All 13 episodes from the Japanese anime based on the pachinko game series. Teenaged schoolgirl Yoshino 'Hideyoshi' Hide (voice of Rina Hidaka) prays for help with her upcoming history exam and ends up being transported to feudal Japan in an alternate world where everyone is female. While there Hideyoshi meets warlord Oda Nobunaga (Megumi Toyoguchi) and joins her on her mission to locate parts of the mystical Crimson Armour which will enable her to unite the country. ### ⭐⭐⭐ OK, but a diluted experience.

Not bad overall. It clearly has potential as it does have an interesting premise and so unique ideas. A shame they aren't utilised correctly. Animation is OK, but a bit sloppy for a +2010 releae. Sound and voice acting is also OK. English dub not that great. Plot and story, while interesting, are rushed and poorly developed. The humor is perhaps its only saving grace, but again it tries too hard at times tossing jokes that are pointless. Clearly this is an Anime series written by young amateurs, or very old writers who think they know what a younger audience wants (which they don't.) Overall: Battle Girls feels like it is trying too hard to appeal to every Shonen demographic there is, giving it a bit of a diluted dumbed down feel. It is still a bit fun to watch, but generally feels like it could have been more. FYI - One would think that that this series would be Ecchi heavy, but is suprisingly tame. Plenty of skimpy outfits, but very little else. Almost no nudity.
