I've been using them for a few weeks now, and we have yet to have a single incident where one has come loose, nor have we had any incidents where they have stuck us or our baby. We have been using them with birdseye cotton flats, typically using the Jo Fold. I can't say how well they would work with other fabric, diaper types, or folds, but they have served us really well with the setup we are using. You only really need two, and you could even get by with one, but it comes with a three-pack in the off case that you lose one. Price is great. Time will tell on the durability. I haven't had any issues, but I've only used them for a few weeks. I highly recommend these! I only wish there were more colors available; I'm not super thrilled about the available color options and it also seems strange how the there options keep two of the colors the same and only vary the one. It's true, and Snappis are one of the great advancements. Forget diaper pins. You can fasten a prefold diaper (that is, one of those plain, flat square diapers) with this nifty device and with some practice you can do it one-handed! There are three plastic claws, protected by a rubbery handle, that grab onto each of the diapers corners to secure the diaper. It's easy to adjust the fastener once it's on. It's also easy to pull and release the Snappi off-- this is great when you're trying to get an especially dirty diaper off! I have caught my finger on the claws once or twice, and it hurts, but it takes some special talent to actually hurt yourself on this (and there's no reason it should hurt your baby). Much better than pins! We use these with OsoCozy prefolds and Thirsties or ProRap diaper covers.
