Review: Great filter ! - If you're looking for a whole house filter, this is it ! Installation isn't easy but it isn't terribly difficult either. Total time for me was about 7 hours (including one extra trip to the hardware store) but could have been a lot less. First the bad news... I had two leaks ( a fitting and the o-ring seal). However, both of these turned out to be operator error and were easily taken care of. Also, the bracket comes with screws to mount onto the filter housing, but not to mount the bracket to a wall so be aware of this. Second the good news... I love this filter system. It wasn't terribly difficult to install. As you can see, I included a by-pass so that I can change the filters without shutting off water to the house. This housing unit is compatible with any filter that is 10x4.5" so you can easily choose the filter that suites your particular application. I would recommend getting a spare filter, so that you already have one when it's time to change. As for changing the filter, there is no indicator (I actually like this because no batteries or electricity is required). To know when to change, check your last year's water bill and estimate time based on water usage and filter capacity. In short, if you need or want a whole house water filter, this is a great buy for the money ! Highly recommended !

**Q: Does this remove rust/iron?**
A: That would depend on the filter installed in the housing. 

If you are dealing with large rust and other sediment particles in your water you should be fine with a 5 micron sediment filter. For wells I like pleated filters like this: https://amazon.com/dp/B074FW96PG. 

If iron is dissolved in your water, you need something that filters iron/manganese like this: https://amazon.com/dp/B09JWP92PD

**Q: How do you contact customer support?  The inlet and outlet ports leak no matter how much ptfe tape or thread sealant used.**
A: I put an O-ring (# 18) inside each port before the brass bushing.  Then I coated the threads with sealant and 10 wraps of teflon tape.  I think there may be a design flaw, it shouldn't be that difficult.

**Q: The filter housing leaks profusely. i checked the o-ring/tested it without a filter to no avail. anyone had this problem and been able to fix it?**
A: Try to lube the o-ring with some coconut oil or silicone lube and reassemble.  Also, if you are using carbon filters, I have seen that sometimes they are just a bit too tall, and so removing one of the gaskets allows the tank to be tightened a bit further, causing a seal. If you write to the company for support, they have a support rep out of Canada who is fantastic.  Be sure to include your Amazon order number and you may want to request a call back (specifically by phone) so that they will route it to him early.

I like that the threads are brass instead of plastic. No leaks anywhere, they come with everything needed to install them, so you don't have to hunt for the right size screws. I redesigned my water treatment system to allow easier filter changes and these work perfectly. You can't even get the name brand blue ones for this price, and with these you get coat so you can see how much sediment is built up. Good buy.
